Synthetic Organic Chemistry [open immediately]

ONE Lab at Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST) is expecting a Synthetic Organic Chemist to join as a postdoctoral scholar on or after September 1, 2014. Ideally, the candidate should be: A fresh graduate (within 1-2 years of PhD) at the time of appointment and a PhD in Organic Chemistry is required. Profound organic synthetic knowledge with matching laboratory skills and expertise in heterocyclic aromatic synthesis is a plus. The candidate is primarily expected to develop organic building blocks and their respective porous organic materials. Knowledge in characterization of porous materials is a plus. The research scope of our group is broadly defined in energy and environment, and all group members are welcome to explore new directions. Salary will be commensurate with the experience. Proficiency in English is compulsory. Porous Polymers [open ended search]
We are looking for an organic chemist who has proven experience on porous polymers. Salary is competitive. Korean nationals are preferred but international scholars will be sponsored for a working visa. Position is open immediately pending funding approval. Appointment is for one year, expandable to two years. Collaborative trips to overseas (US, Qatar, Turkey) may be required. A second appointment may be made depending on the applicant qualifications. We're looking for a PhD level scientist with substantial knowledge and experience in gas catalysis (esp. CH4, CO2). Familiarity with DSC, TGA and Quadrupole MS is strongly preferred. Expertise on GC, XRD, SEM, TEM, BET, ICP is a plus. Salary is competitive. Korean nationals are preferred but international scholars will be sponsored for a working visa.
